Info: Produced before the public release. 1 of 3 in existence. 1 of 1 in Size US 12 — Kanye's size. February 10, 2008. The 50th Grammy Awards. Kanye takes the stage for "Hey Mama" and "Stronger." Nobody in the room can identify the shoes on his feet. The only clue: a Swoosh. Nike had partnered with a non-athlete for the first time at this level. A completely new silhouette — built not for a sport, but for an artist. The forefoot strap, the glow-in-the-dark sole, the DNA of the Jordan III. Nothing like it had ever existed. A handful of Looksee Samples were produced — internal reference pairs used to finalize materials, colorways, and proportions ahead of manufacturing sign-off. Only 3 pairs of the Zen Grey Looksee Sample were ever made. This is the Size 12M — 1 of 1 in this size. Kanye's size. April 4, 2009. "Zen Grey" drops. Nationwide campouts. Sold out instantly. One of the first influencer drops in sneaker history — before the term even existed. Every artist collab that followed — Travis, Off-White — traces back to this shoe. In 2021, the Grammy prototype sold at Sotheby's for $1.8M. First sneaker ever publicly sold for over a million. This Looksee Sample was made in 2008. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Brand new. Deadstock. OG Looksee tagged & labeled. Everything original, no Box. As with all Looksee Samples, minor variations exist between left and right — slightly deeper embroidery on the Y and marginal strap difference. Expected on pre-production pairs. The colorway never made it to retail in this form. The sockliner is a different color than what consumers ever saw — a detail that separates true archive pieces from everything else. This isn't a shoe. It's sneaker history. Not a grail you wait to find — one that surfaces once, if at all.
